Building Blocks – Winter 2017

February 16, 2017 By Chris

New Early Years Manager

Early Years Manager Becky CoxI’m Becky Cox, the Early Years Manager at HOPE. I’ve spent over ten years in education: teaching and supporting children and their families. I come from a background of predominantly special education needs and spent over four years as a Portage Home visitor in Worcestershire. I have a strong passion for education and spent a year lecturing Early Childhood studies and Health and Social care.

My most recent position as a trainer for a large independent fostering agency, allowed me to travel all over the UK. I trained both social workers and foster parents in subjects such as child development, safeguarding and attachment.

I’m very proud to be a parent governor at my eldest child’s school as part of the governing body to support the head.

My heart has always remained in early education and working with children and their families. I’m very excited about my new venture at The HOPE Centre.

Christmas Fair Fund Raising

A big thank you to all those who supported us in raising over four hundred pounds for the Early Years Department! The event was a huge success and we hope to hold an Easter fund raiser with activities for families to attend.

Garden Plans

HOPE Baby GardenWork to the baby garden has been booked to start in March.

The new plans for Astroturf to almost completely cover the space to create a more enabling outdoor environment will be the first phase of the new design.

We are in the process of applying for some funding to help aid a re-design for the toddler and preschool gardens. Any donations of flowers, plants and child-friendly outdoor equipment would be warmly received.
