Volunteers are always welcome at the HOPE Centre. They bring added value to the work that we do.
If you would like to volunteer at HOPE, remember that you can give as little or as much time as you choose – even 3 hours per fortnight can make a difference. Volunteers enable us to ‘go the extra mile’, enhancing the services we offer to families and others in the local community.
Volunteers give their time willingly, and offer a wealth of experience to the Centre. In return they gain experience, confidence and enhanced skills, as well as a great sense of satisfaction in being part of a team that is making a significant contribution to families and the life in our local community.
Family Support Volunteers required
We have a number of volunteering opportunities in our Family Support led groups. We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic and who enjoy meeting people and young children. We need people who can help out with a range of activities but who won’t necessarily have any prior experience:
- On Thursday mornings 10.30 to 12.00, Family Support run the Baby Let’s Play – drop in Health Visitor group, a fun friendly baby morning with lots of things to do for expectant or new parent. Services including baby weighing and general health advice provided by a Health visitor as well as the opportunity to meet other parents and their little ones and to get involved in a range of fun activities with babies.
- On Fridays, 10.30-11.15, Family Support run the Let’s Play – Bounce & Rhyme group which is held at the Bromyard Leisure Centre situated in the town centre, in partnership with Halo Leisure. Bounce and Rhyme introduces children and babies to songs and music in a fun way and is led by one of our experienced staff to guide the session. The group runs every Friday morning in term time.
- We have an urgent need for a volunteer who can sign using British Sign Language.
- Family Support also need volunteers who can speak a second language.
This will help to build a pool of volunteers with different skills who can be called upon to help with the work of the family support team. As with all of HOPE’s volunteers prospective volunteers will require a DBS check, which we will arrange, plus good references.
If you’re interested in finding out more about our current volunteering opportunities, contact HOPE reception on 01885 488495 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. All volunteers at HOPE need to be DBS checked (we will help you with that) and to have two referees.
You can download our volunteer registration form here. Please complete it and either post it to the address on the form or drop it into reception at the HOPE Centre.
