Free Childcare for 2 year olds at HOPE

herefordshire council logoMany 2 year olds are eligible for 15 hours a week of free childcare at the HOPE Centre with funding from Herefordshire County Council. To find out if your child is eligible the necessary criteria are detailed below. To qualify you must meet either Criteria One or Two.

Criteria One

If you are in receipt of:

  • Income support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, annual income does not exceed £16,190 (as determined by HMRC) and Working Tax Credit is NOT being received
  • Working Tax Credit “Run On” (A four week payment when your employment has ceased or working hours reduced below 16)
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

Criteria Two

If you have or are in receipt of the following:

  • Child Looked after by the local authority (LAC)
  • Adopted child
  • Working Tax Credit, annual income does not exceed £16,190 (as determined by HMRC)*
  • The child is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)*
  • The child has a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Statement.

*Proof of claim must be enclosed for this application to be processed.

Funding starts for your child depending on their birth date. For details on this, to check your eligibility and to apply for funding, visit the Herefordshire County Council website.

The Hope café is open to all the community and is open daily in the week and on the second Saturday of every month. We are a safe and friendly place for everyone. Our soft play area is great for children and is free.
