Hope Community Hub is happy!

July 31, 2020 By Sarah Eardley

As we come to the end of month two, Heidi Mulholland and the Hub team are really happy to have been helping our local community and giving people advice, guidance, emotional support and practical help.  We’ve had a great response from local partners and professionals in the community who have given us some lovely feedback and told us what a great service we are offering.  We’re so pleased that people are referring to the service and would like to thank the Council, health teams and local schools for making sure help is being offered.

Referring to us is easy and only take a phone call or text and we will get back in touch really quickly.  All staff are safeguarding trained and DBS checked and experienced in offering help and support without judgment, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch because we know how hard it is to ask for help sometimes.

We recently launched our Hope Holiday Hub service to help with food and cooking and are using the fabulous team in our cafe (currently closed) to cook healthy meals with a delicious pud as well as lunch boxes for children.  All meals come with a recipe card and allergen advice so you can have a go at home if you fancy!

Update on Hope Community Hub

July 2, 2020 By Sarah Eardley

This first month has been a busy one; we have been out and about ensuring people know about the project, delivering leaflets and talking to people about how we can help.  We have listened to what people and have helped with a variety of things from getting the right tin opener for someone with a visual impairment to agreeing to cook meals for someone who is temporarily suffering financial hardship. We have also helped people with their banking, medication and have just generally been able to chat and give people time to share their worries and offload their concerns.  Sometimes it doesn’t have to be a big thing that makes a big difference and we are here to help.

Our team has been busy trying to make sure as many people as possible know how to get hold of us and use our really simple referral system.  People have phoned, texted and used social media to get in touch and we are glad we can help. We are here to listen, talk and support and if you need help just phone or text us on 07935 959240.

THE NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND AWARD

June 7, 2020 By Sarah Eardley

HOPE Community Hub Support & Help for all

Helpline 07395 959240

We are delighted to announce the launch of HOPE Community Hub Support & Help for All thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund. The new project will provide support and help to all members of the community via a dedicated team of staff offering practical and emotional support.

Who is on the team?

Heidi Mulholland is the Project Coordinator who will manage and oversee the project. Working with her are Louise Davies, Netti Evans and Karen Stocker who will offer support and advice in response to requests for help.  Mandy Williams will manage the administration and data monitoring for the project. Overall responsibility for the project lies with Sarah Eardley.

What will we do?

We know that the pandemic has made these challenging times and that the difficulties are causing a great deal of distress.  Our team of trained and experienced staff will be on hand to listen, talk and support.

We have set up a help line, 07395 959240, to make contact with us and ask for help.

How to get help?

Call 07395 959240 or

email info@hopefamilycentre.org or

Complete this form Hope Community Hub Self Referral Form

If you are from another organisation and would like to make a request for help, please use this form Hope Community Hub Professional Referral Form

We will help with issues such as domestic abuse, mental wellbeing and budgeting.  We will provide gardening help, cook and deliver meals, offer menu ideas and healthy eating recipes.  We hope this support will help people at a time when we are having to live without our usual networks of support and we are apart from those we would normally be with.  We will use our strong links with other community support organisations and partners to help people access the right help and support.

Salt dough keepsakes

May 1, 2020 By Sarah Eardley

Lockdown salt dough keepsakes

We have seen that so many of you have been busy creating rainbow pictures/paintings and crafts in honour of our NHS and keyworkers. This is such a difficult time for so many people, including our children. Why not use this easy salt dough recipe at home to create a keepsake for your child/children to remember this strange time of ‘staying at home’?  Just dry the dough out overnight or pop in to the oven on a low setting for a couple of hours before you decorate them. Please tag us on our Facebook page if you take part and we will share your creations…let’s brighten up Bromyard and the surrounds with even more rainbows!
