Funding award news!

March 19, 2021 By Sarah Eardley

The team at Hope are celebrating their recent success in gaining a significant piece of funding for their new project, Restoring Resilience, from The National Lottery Community Fund. The award is for £490,384 over 3 years.

Restoring Resilience is part of a wider range of support services and will introduce additional activities/support in the areas of finance, food, mental health, domestic abuse and children and families.  Over the last 12 months, the Hope Centre has seen demand for support in these areas increase and this new funding will support the recruitment of new staff and the introduction of new support to meet demand.

It is not always easy to access support from rural locations and this has been even more difficult during the pandemic. It is for this reason that we are especially pleased to receive this funding award now, making it quick and easy to access help locally.

The Hope Centre has been supporting the local community for many years and has been described recently as a “beacon of success” by representatives of Bromyard and Winslow Town Council.  We are extremely pleased that such an important piece of funding recognised the value of locally led services working in communities and very grateful to The National Lottery for such an important award.

A child’s view

February 18, 2021 By Sarah Eardley

Our Child Contact Centre has remained open during the latest Government restrictions and we are delighted that we have been able to continue to facilitate contact sessions for children to see their non-resident parents/carers.
Our team has recently received some lovely feedback from a child who has been seeing their father at the centre.
‘I really like coming to play at the centre and I was worried that with the virus I wouldn’t be able to see my Daddy. It makes me sad when I can’t see him so it has made me happy that I can keep coming. There are lots of nice toys and crafts that we can play together and the staff make me feel happy and safe’.

Citizen’s Advice money advice service

February 15, 2021 By Sarah Eardley

Sometimes talking about money worries or personal things is not easy.  If you’re thinking you may need help, please let us know. Here’s an example of how someone got help and what they said:
“I called the centre and asked for support with my finances. The lovely lady who answered the phone was so helpful and booked me an appointment with a CA advisor who she told me could help me. It was all arranged for me and I received a call when I was told I would. I was allocated an advisor who was so friendly and kind and has supported me to make sure I am claiming all the benefits that I am entitled to. They have also helped me with paperwork and long-standing debts that I really didn’t think I could sort out. Such a good service, right on my doorstep and so easy to access. Thanks all.”
