Visible and Valued Week

May 16, 2025 By Aaron Willoughby

Herefordshire is hosting an exciting week of activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Throughout the week a wide range of fun activities will be on offer to children and young people with SEND and their families and carers which are running from Thursday 22nd to Wednesday 28th of May.
The Hope Centre will be running two single day events so local families will be able to try out new experiences in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Our Free Sensory Room Open Day is being held on Tuesday 27th May.
Morning slot: 10am – 12 noon
Afternoon slot: 1 – 3pm
We have two time slots available for you to visit the room for free, just come along no booking required. This event will be a fantastic opportunity for you to get a feel for what this incredible space has to offer!
Our space is designed for you and can be booked by individuals, small groups, carers or charities. We also run a weekly Tuesday sensory stars group in this space, come to visit us during our open day to find out more, you are sure of a warm welcome.
On the day special offers: Book a sensory room slot with us and receive a free visit!
Join us for our sensory room open day event and receive a free tea/coffee voucher for our on-site café (to be used on the day).

Our Relaxed Café is being held on Wednesday 28th May from 10am – 3pm.
Together with your support, we aim to create a relaxed environment where you are welcome, comfortable and valued. We will provide a calmer experience by turning the lights off in the café and limiting the noise from the kitchen. There will be some sensory activities available in addition to the soft play, toys and books in the play area.
There will be our usual range of drinks and delicious cakes available for purchase, alongside a limited food menu. Our symbolised menus are also available for use by customers to support accessibility.
We hope you can join us, if you have any questions, get in touch on 01885 488495.
On the day special offers: Book a sensory room slot with us and receive a free visit!
Also get 10% off in the café during the event.
